Synopsis

This course explores the essential principles of high resolution computed tomography (HRCT) applied to the diagnosis of interstitial lung diseases (ILD). The program offers a structured and practical approach to interpreting complex radiological patterns and recognizing key features that guide differential diagnosis. The content covers CT findings that are most suggestive of ILD, the radiological criteria fundamental to the classification of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and the patterns that help distinguish IPF from non IPF ILDs. It also reviews radiological indicators associated with fibrotic progression, providing clinically applicable tools to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Through a didactic and decision oriented framework, this course strengthens the clinician’s ability to identify typical patterns, avoid common pitfalls, and optimize the comprehensive assessment of patients with suspected ILD. This activity is supported by an independent support grant from Boehringer Ingelheim

Objectives

  • Identify key HRCT features suggestive of interstitial lung disease and understand their diagnostic relevance, including the radiological criteria used to classify IPF and distinguish it from other ILDs.
  • Recognize HRCT patterns and characteristics that support the differentiation between IPF and non IPF ILDs, integrating typical presentations and major interpretative pitfalls.
  • Analyse radiological indicators of fibrotic progression and apply them to longitudinal patient assessment to enhance diagnostic precision and clinical decision‑making in ILD.

Accreditation

This course is accredited with 1 ECMEC credit valid in 26 countries. To claim your credits take the evaluation (satisfaction survey and evaluation questionnaire). You have 3 attempts for the evaluation. You need to pass the evaluation with a sufficient score to validate the course. Your diploma is issued instantaneously and sent to your email.
