Synopsis

This webinar, organized in collaboration with ESCMID Study Group for Viral Hepatitis (ESGVH), will focus on zoonotic Hepatitis E, a significant public health issue in high-income countries. Speakers will discuss the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of zoonotic Hepatitis E. In the final part of the webinar, an interactive session will allow participants to actively ask questions. This activity is endorsed by the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO).

Objectives

  • Identify zoonotic Hepatitits E cases presenting with extrahepatic symtoms
  • Develop PCR-analysis in laboratories to diagnose zoonotic Hepatitits E, which could contribute to identifying the true prevalence of zoonotic Hepatitis E.
  • Plan investigating the prevalence of Hepatitis E in animals and to reduce the risk of transmission to humans.
  • Updating the diagnostic and treatment approaches for Hepatitis E
