Synopsis

Join experts Silvia Morbelli and Alexander Drzezga as they explore the evolving role of PET imaging in the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer’s disease from a European perspective. They examine the latest advancements in amyloid and tau PET imaging, including their clinical applications, limitations, and integration into diagnostic workflows. With a focus on current and emerging biomarker frameworks, such as the ATN and Core criteria, they also discuss the complementary roles of fluid and imaging biomarkers, implications for eligibility and monitoring of disease-modifying treatments, and the challenges of implementation in real-world European healthcare settings. This activity is supported by an independent support grant from Springer.

Objectives

  • Discuss the role of current and emerging PET biomarkers, including their strengths and weaknesses, in achieving a timely and accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease
  • Integrate best practice for the selection, interpretation, and reporting of PET biomarkers in the context of your local clinical practice
  • Incorporate optimal communication and reporting methods to enhance interdisciplinary working and patient relationships
