Synopsis

Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) by analysis of circulating free DNA (cfDNA) in maternal blood is much more powerful than traditional screening in the detection and prenatal management of pathologies such as Down syndrome and other trisomies, and is set to be a future universal screening method for all pregnant women. This informative course provides the basic information that any professional should know: What does the methodology consist of and what are its different approaches and limitations? What do patients need to know and how are the results managed? What is the national and international experience, and where are we heading? Participate to increase your knowledge and improve the quality of prenatal care in clinical practice! This activity is supported by an independent support grant from Illumina, administered by the Spanish Association of Prenatal Diagnosis (AEDP).
