Synopsis

Did you know that obesity is a real medical condition in which the brain defends against weight loss? Or that bias about weight exists among patients and physicians? People with obesity experience several internal and external obstacles that prevent them from receiving proper treatment. The Ask, Listen, Summarize, Inform/Invite (ALSI) method is a simple tool, based on empathetic communication, that can be used in every consultation to guide conversations with patients and effectively manage obesity. By watching the demonstration videos in this course, you will see the method put into practice and learn how to address important subjects like internalized bias, obstacles, and cravings. Join this course and start using effective tools to close the gap between people living with obesity and healthcare professionals. This activity is supported by an independent support grant from Novo Nordisk.
