Synopsis

This online course provides a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of Helicobacter pylori infections. In approximately 50 minutes, viewers will explore the global epidemiology of the bacterium, its historical and clinical significance, and the development of treatment strategies in response to increasing antibiotic resistance. The course highlights important milestones such as the classification of H. pylori as a Class I carcinogen and its redefinition as an infectious disease that must be treated regardless of symptoms. The focus is on current international guidelines, diagnostic techniques and treatment regimens, including the widely recommended quadruple therapy with bismuth. Enriched with clinical case studies and practical insights, the course equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge to make informed decisions in their daily practice, while also addressing current challenges and future directions in the fight against this high-priority pathogen. This activity is supported by an independent support grant from Juvisé
