Audio: Spanish

Synopsis

This course examines the key role of nursing in the current management of haemophilia, against a backdrop of rapidly evolving treatments. It reviews the clinical foundations of the condition and the main challenges associated with intravenous prophylaxis, including adherence and the emotional burden of treatment. It analyses administration devices and their impact on quality of life, particularly in paediatric patients and those with difficult venous access. In addition, new subcutaneous non-replacement therapies and their potential to reduce the burden of disease are explored. Finally, the importance of PROs/PROMs and the future vision of patient-centred care are introduced.

This activity is supported by an independent support grant from Novo Nordisk
